Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.
A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.
The arrests follow a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for treatment and have since been released.
Officers arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.
Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by an irritating chemical thought to be an irritant spray.
The attack - which authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
